![]() ![]() ![]() Richard Yonker has been described as a dedicated man, an involved member of the Breck Teacher's Union, a man with interesting ideas. When one of his students gets a problem correct, it’s a source of pride. however, causes students to see math more in the light of a challenge, rather than as a boring but necessary piece of homework. "Do you realize how much MATH homework we have tonight?”, "I hate MATH, it's impossible!", "This MATH is so boring !”. Traditionally, math has been the subject most students dislike and complain about in the hallway. Ziggy posters, scientific posters explaining what would happen if the earth was a trapezoid instead of a sphere, prairie dogs, and good old Charlie Brown. The posters plastering his room are indications of his personality: old clippings of past Gopher and Mustang football victories. His calculus parties got most of the AP Calc students through the week as they struggle with integrals of natural logs and infinite series. His quirky sense of humor has become legendary among his students. In this time he has gained a reputation throughout the school as a teacher dedicated to teaching his subject, who cares about his students, and challenges them to their utmost ability.
